After an accident 15 years ago, Mr. Lemusu, an Australian-Vietnamese customer, had been living with a deviated nasal septum, which affected his breathing function and facial aesthetics. Upon returning to Vietnam, he was examined by Dr. Louis Truong, Deputy Head of the Minor Surgery Department at Kangnam Aesthetic Hospital Hanoi, and underwent rib cartilage rhinoplasty combined with septal correction, aiming to create a more balanced nasal shape and improve his airway.
When receiving Mr. Lemusu’s clinical case, the medical team at Kangnam Aesthetic Hospital Hanoi assessed it as a highly complex surgical case. The accident 15 years earlier had left internal damage within the nasal structure.
Based on imaging results, Dr. Louis Truong, Deputy Head of the Minor Surgery Department at Kangnam Aesthetic Hospital Hanoi, provided a detailed analysis of the injuries:
Dr. Louis Truong shared: “I had to reconstruct the entire nasal foundation, reposition the septum back to a straight axis to open the customer’s airway, while also correcting the humped nasal bone and wide nasal tip.”

Dr. Louis Truong recommended that Mr. Lemusu undergo 100% rib cartilage Idol Rhinoplasty combined with deviated septum correction, nasal tip reduction, and ultrasonic nasal hump reduction with bone reshaping.
The doctor carefully performed dissection to access the deviated septum. Using advanced structural correction techniques, the collapsed and deviated septum was repositioned and fixed straight along the midline. Releasing the compressed area helped restore airflow through both nostrils.

Dr. Louis Truong harvested a small piece of rib cartilage from Mr. Lemusu’s own body. The cartilage was then carefully sculpted to create material for nasal tip coverage and a strong columellar support structure. Autologous rib cartilage offers excellent biological compatibility, minimizing the risk of allergic reaction, and can quickly integrate with the nasal tissue to form a stable and long-lasting structure.

Kangnam applied specialized ultrasonic bone reshaping technology. Sharp, low-amplitude ultrasonic waves helped smooth the uneven nasal hump with millimeter-level precision without damaging surrounding blood vessels or soft tissues. After treatment, the nasal bridge became straighter, more refined, and natural-looking.
Finally, the large and wide nasal tip was carefully dissected, and excess soft tissue was reduced. The septal cartilages were sutured and reshaped to create a slimmer, more refined, and gently elevated nasal tip. The nasal tip was lifted to a suitable height, creating a smooth and natural transition from the nasal root to the tip, fully correcting the previous coarse appearance and helping the overall face look more harmonious and balanced.
After surgery, Mr. Lemusu was scheduled for a follow-up appointment after 5 days to have his stitches removed. By around day 10, the swelling had reduced quickly, and the nasal shape began to look more stable and defined compared to the first few days.
Note: Following post-operative care instructions and attending follow-up appointments on schedule directly affects the final result. Aesthetic outcomes may vary depending on each person’s individual healing ability.

Looking at himself in the mirror with a completely new appearance, Mr. Lemusu could not hide his emotions. His new nose gave him greater confidence in his appearance, making his face look more refined, youthful, and attractive.
Mr. Lemusu shared during his follow-up appointment:
“When I decided to return to Vietnam and choose Kangnam, I was a little worried because my case involved severe trauma. But after meeting Dr. Louis Trương, his dedication and professional analysis made me feel completely reassured. Today, my nose not only looks outstanding and natural, but I can also breathe much more easily.”
